Landscape Architects

Project management software can be overwhelming, and the only way it will help your landscape architectural firm is if it is used.

So how do you get your employees to use the project management software willingly?

Typically executives at landscape architectural firms see the reporting capabilities and accountability that is created with a project management software and ask, "where do we sign up". The need for simple tracking of the time their employees spend on landscape projects and the many different hourly rates that can be applied is critical. Knowing how much of the project budget is left before the end of the week tally of your employees time spent is rather important as well.

The answer according to Tal Jackson, CEO of Land-Arc-West, is to have the interface that the majority of your users will see BE SIMPLE! He couldn't stress enough the simplicity that would be needed for the time sheet data entry. He added that he had been searching for over 20 years for a program that would do just that.

Working with Tal, we modified and added modules to the project management software that allowed the initial page that is shown after logging into the web-based system to a simple time sheet interface. By doing so there would be no need for those users to have to dig any deeper into the program. The learning curve and the reluctance factor removed.
