Adding a File to a Project or Task
Files can be uploaded, added or attached to projects and or tasks.
Note:
If you click on a project then click the "New File" button (Top Right of screen) the file will be associated with the whole project.
If you click on a task name then click the "New File" button, the file will be associated with the Project and Task.
Step by Step:
1. Click on new file to add an existing file to a project.
2. Complete the Version Number that you wish to use (for example, if you have multiple files for one topic, you may want to label them ver. 1, 2, 3, etc.).
3. Select a category for the file (categories have been established by your System Administrator).
4. Select a Project and a Task (If you are adding the file from the Task Detail Screen, the file will automatically default to the current project and task.
5. Enter a description for the file.
6. Click on browse to locate the file or type in the full pathname and filename.
7. Click on (or leave checked) the option to Notify Task Assignees or Project Owner of the new file via e-mail. De-select this option if you do not want to send an e-mail notification.
8. Click on submit to save the file and the file will be added and viewable from the main Project Detail screen when you select the Files tab.
